# Enabling Network Data Reporting and Dashboards

### Location Sharing (Required)

Location sharing must be enabled at the OS level to allow Zoom to detect IP addresses, BSSIDs and switch ports.

<table data-header-hidden="false" data-header-sticky><thead><tr><th>Platform</th><th>How to Enable</th><th>Notes</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Windows</strong></td><td>Zoom Workplace app prompts user automatically</td><td>User will be prompted to enable automatic sharing or admin can use Group policy to enforce the change</td></tr><tr><td><strong>macOS</strong></td><td>Requires local admin privileges</td><td>Cannot be reliably managed remotely; may need manual enablement</td></tr><tr><td><strong>iPadOS</strong></td><td>Requires local admin privileges</td><td>Same Apple security restriction as macOS</td></tr></tbody></table>

User location sharing status can be monitored via the Zoom Phone dashboard.

### Reporting and Dashboards

Zoom Phone provides dashboards and call logs for monitoring and managing emergency services deployments. The **Location Dashboard** tracks the following for each user and site:

* **Location sharing permissions:** which users have granted location sharing permissions to the Zoom Workplace application
* **Detectable personal locations:** which users have created a detectable personal location
* **Default emergency address:** which users have set or confirmed a default emergency address vs. those still using the inherited site default
* **Nomadic emergency services status:** which users and sites have nomadic emergency services enabled or disabled

The dashboard also shows the **real-time detected location** for each user and IP phone. This location updates as the user moves between networks throughout the day. Note that the real-time location shown on the dashboard may differ from the location reported at the time of an actual emergency call, since the user may have moved between the dashboard snapshot and the moment the call was placed.

**Emergency call logs:** When a user makes an emergency call, the Zoom Phone call logs designate the call as an emergency call and display the full details. If nomadic emergency services is enabled, the call log includes the network information that was detected at the time of the call. For U.S./Canada, the log shows the address that was sent to the PSAP via PIDF-LO. For the rest of the world, the log shows the outbound caller ID that was sent (either the user's direct number or the location's ELIN) and the address associated with that outbound caller ID.

**Testing with 933 (U.S./Canada** **only):** U.S. and Canada customers can dial **933** to perform a dry run of their emergency services setup. When a user dials 933, the system connects to an automated test service that plays back the address it would send to the PSAP for that user's current location. This test call also triggers all configured emergency notifications (email, ISRT queue, chat bot, webhook), allowing administrators to verify that the full notification chain works correctly — without engaging real public safety resources. It is strongly recommended that customers also **dial 911 and test actual emergency calling before going live** to confirm end-to-end call routing to the PSAP.

**Rest of the world:** There is no equivalent test number (like 933) available outside the U.S.and Canada. Customers in other regions should coordinate with their carrier and local emergency services to validate their emergency calling setup.

**Important Zoom Emergency Services Disclaimers:** Administrators should review and understand the Zoom emergency services disclaimers, which outline the capabilities, limitations, and responsibilities associated with emergency calling on the Zoom platform.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://library.zoom.com/zoom-workplace/zoom-phone/expert-insights/emergency-services-best-practices/enabling-network-data-reporting-and-dashboards.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
